Get resident evil 4 code for new account

Recently I bought mq2 from my friend as she's moving out of state. I did factory reset and created a new account. This mq2 device is bundled with re4 till December'23 but my friend forgot the re4 code. Can I retrieve the code by any way and use it or I have to purchase a new one?

Do you mean switch the account's display name? That's possible for free every six months, if you mean create a secondary account then that would be against the Terms of Service.

Meta and the Quest devices pretty much follow the same type of guidelines and principles as accounts on other platforms and consoles.

Since the code was distributed by way of a card inside the box, I doubt there is any way to obtain another one. How would you prove you are entitled to it, particularly as you are not the original purchaser? If your friend redeemed the code herself the game is associated with her account.

Thanks for your reply. So what kind proof do I need to get from her. In that case can I get new code to redeem?

Due to the purchase of the headset not being through an authorized retailer, we're not able to provide you with the code. Since your friend had redeemed the RE4 code, it's now within their account. You'll need to use app sharing to play that game if you're not wanting to purchase, but support isn't going to be able to add the game for you.

Ok got it. Need small clarification, while purchasing meta quest from authorized dealer the game was bundled with the device as mentioned in the box then after redeem the code why it is tagged with her account? Obviously it should tagged with device right?

All purchases and code redemptions that are made will always be attached to your account than the headset.

Imagine buying a digital game on a Xbox or Playstation, would you want it to your account or console? What if you have an issue with the console and need a new one or eventually want to upgrade? You'd be out of all your purchases.

Thanks for the reply. I agree with the digital buying choose the account. What in case if not going to use the account anymore? Or anyone want to switch the account?

Making secondary (or more) Meta accounts is explicitly allowed.

From Meta's blog on Meta accounts: https://www.meta.com/en-gb/blog/quest/meta-accounts/?utm_source=about.fb.com&utm_medium=oculusredire...

"Your Meta account information isn’t public, and you can create multiple Meta accounts."

From the Supplemental Meta Platforms TOS section 1.1c: https://www.meta.com/au/legal/supplemental-terms-of-service/?utm_source=www.meta.com&utm_medium=doll...

"You may use the same Meta account to access different MPT Products, or you may create multiple different Meta accounts."

However Facebook accounts definitely have the one-per-real-person rule, which is why Meta accounts replacing them was such a good thing. 🙂

Mixed-up my info with FB/Meta accounts there 😅

Thanks for clarifying, Kojack!
