So I said I don’t experience the error while I’m on PC— it usually logs me in automatically but with the oculus it doesn’t even get me to one. It just tries to boot up and then the DSAT message pops up. So as far as I know, it’s standalone exclusive.

My partner determined that there is compatibility because there have been no issues, so that’s not the problem. The problem is with startup itself.

I performed a normal restart to start, then I processed to a reboot. I would turn it off and let it sit for about 5 minutes and then come back and check on it. I do not want to factory reset my headset— that’s a last resort option.

Thank you for providing this information. We have a couple more questions:

  • Is this only affecting VR Chat, or do you experience issues with any other apps?
  • Did the app ever work on your headset? If so, when did this issue begin? Were there any changes to your device between then and now?
    • For example, software updates, settings changes, in-game changes?

We also recommend that you try the following steps:

  1. Log out of the phone app and back in.
  2. Remove any third party accessories from the device.
  3. You mentioned that you previously uninstalled and reinstalled the app, but let's try doing it in this specific order:
    1. Uninstall the application
    2. Perform a hard reboot with the following steps:
      1. Hold down the power button and volume-down button for 30 seconds until you hear the boot-up sound.
      2. If the boot-up sound is not heard:
        1. Hold the power and volume (-) buttons down simultaneously until the boot screen loads on your headset.
        2. Use the volume buttons on your headset to highlight "Boot Device" and press the power button.
        3. Use the volume buttons on your headset to highlight Yes and press the power button.
    3. Reinstall the application

Please let us know if you experience any changes after this! We look forward to hearing back from you!

So it did work for a minute, the specific order. I got to log in and I managed to pass through there with the confirmation code but, the program went through a pattern of freezes— like what would happen is after it would log me in, the program would freeze. It wouldn’t do anything. So I soft restarted my headset. After the soft restart, the DSAT error message returned and I had to start back at square one.

As for historics, the app has indeed worked on my headset before. The DSAT error message came and went, ever since I got the headset a few weeks ago. I haven’t made any notable changes to my headset or VRChat so I don’t understand what the issue is. VRChat is the only app I’ve used, so I don’t know if it’s the same with other applications as I haven’t tried.

Hi there!

Thanks for getting in touch with Meta Quest Support!

With regards to your VRChat app, can you confirm that you are using the Meta approved version of VRChat or if you are running the application through Steam?

We look forward to hearing back from you so that we can get your VR experience running smoothly again!

Yes, im using the program through meta, but I also do have it on Steam.

Thanks for getting back to us!

Steam is not an officially supported platform with Meta products and it often causes some compatibility issues for Meta devices. For these reasons, I would advise you to use the Meta version of VRChat only.

Hopefully this guidance will eliminate the disruptions to your game play and ensure your journey through the Metaverse goes back to running smoothly!

Let me know if this resolves your issue and do not hesitate to get in touch if you have any further queries!

Hi @infranthax,

Just checking in! Did the recommendation to use our Meta version of VRChat only, eliminate the app disruptions?
