"Hi all, I am getting this error on VRChat on my quest 2. I have tried on Wi-Fi and on hotspot but switching did not help. I also rebooted the headset. Any help?" com.vrchat.oculus.quest-20240614-212808.jpg

Hey there, @d956009! We know how important it is to have your apps running as smoothly as possible, so we're more than happy to investigate this issue together! First, we have some questions for you.

  • Are you playing on the headset by itself or with a PC?
  • Is the app downloaded from a Meta platform, or a third-party, side-loading platform such as Steam or SideQuest?
  • Is the app downloaded and installed on the headset?
  • When did this start? Were any changes made?
  • Have you confirmed that your home world in VRchat is set to a compatible version.
    • For example, a PC-only world could not be used on a headset by itself.

We look forward to hearing back from you!

I play through a helmet, installed from the Meta Quest Store, (the helmet was also recently updated to the latest firmware V66) it started immediately after installation, after waiting for the game to install, I pressed the "Play" button, after waiting a couple of seconds for the spinning VRChat logo, I realized this was an error, tried to restart the game but nothing helped
“Have you confirmed that your home world has a compatible version of VRchat?” — I didn’t understand this question, in the Meta Quest Store I saw 2 versions of VRChat for Quest and for Rift. I have the Quest version installed

We appreciate you confirming that with us! To see if this might be app-related, have you experienced any similar app behavior or crashing with other apps?

Hey there! We wanted to check back with you to see if you were able to see if other apps are experiencing this? Please let us know if there's anything else we can help you with!

Hello

Hello, for several days I was unable to log into the site, it simply wouldn’t let me log into my oculus account.

the day before yesterday the game started working! But today the same error comes up again 😞

Hello @d956009. Glad you're back in! We see you've got some updates for us. We appreciate the information. Something we did want to ask as well is if you're using STEAM at all or any other 3rd party software to run VR chat. This can affect the connection . We recommend clearing your cache and restarting the headset with a fresh connection to see if this changes things for you. If launching STEAM, try to launch it prior to opening VR chat. We hope this was helpful. Let us know if you get a chance to apply these recommendations. Looking forward to your response.

I launched VRChat via the Oculus Link cable and Steam, the game runs erratically there, at one point it just freezes (I think the 8 GB of video memory on my video card is to blame).

How to clear VRChat cache on Quest? How come I have a developer account, can I clear the cache through the standard Android settings, or can this be done in the headset settings?

Hey @d956009. The steps for clearing the cache for VR chat is as a follows.

  1. In VR chat,, click the settings of "Gear" tab in the bottom of the Main Menu.
  2. Scroll down to Debug on the left side, then click on it. Click on "Clear Content Cache" and "Clear Local Profile Data".
  3. Restart VR Chat

We also recommend clearing you system cache as well for your PC. Please apply this recommendations and let us know if these work or not so that w can explore another solution. Looking forward to your response.
