I have had my oculus for less than 12 hours. After using it for a little over an hour with the lens protectors the lens on the Oculus AND my glasses are all scratched up! I'm so upset!

Wow, you must have pretty cheap glasses, lol!

Seems like very reckless behavior using the hmd for about 12 hours and first then noticing the scratches.
I've used glasses in my Index and CV1 since respectively 2019 and 2017, never got a single scratch. I do not even use lens protectors. And I have the Index lenses all dialed-in for the biggest fov.
When you use glasses in a hmd it's your responsibility to check if your glasses can safely fit inside the hmd. In 2017 I checked for scratches after very few minutes - and then gradually increased the time. Also at first I did not test games where I needed to move a lot.
So to me it does not sound like you have been careful. And it sounds like you'll need new glasses to fit the hmd. My glasses are ultra-thin (did cost $700 without the frame, got them made just for VR) and the width of the frame is less than 140 mm.
Btw, my CV1 did end up getting some tiny unnoticeable scratches in 2017 - I made the error of letting guests try VR using their own glasses. Since then I never allow guests to use glasses in my hmds - also meaning that most guests cannot try VR, but better safe than sorry.

Hello Everyone! Thank you so much for being a part of the Oculus family! A scratched lens can certainly put a damper on game play. Here is a link on how to Clean you lens on your Oculus devices. Feel free to submit a support ticket to see about replacement of the lens. We look forward to seeing you in VR!
