Hi there,
My son can play Gorilla Tag, but when he joins a public lobby, the game puts him in a lobby with no people in it, except for himself. All of his movement works fine and there has been no damage to the VR headset. Whenever, he does attempt to go into the public lobbies, instead of it being his normal name (Lemon), it is gorilla followed by random numbers.
Everything was working fine and then my son went 10 days or so without using his VR headset, this issue started when he tried to go back on.
We have done a factory reset, we have uninstalled and re-installed the game, we have logged out of the Meta Horizon app and logged back in. We downloaded to the cloud. I updated the Horizon app.
After all of this, it let him into a public lobby for 5 minutes, we thought the issue was fixed but then when he stopped using it and then went to go into a public lobby the issue started again. We have not had any success for 2 weeks now.
Can someone help me out or at least point me in the right direction as to how to fix this problem.
This is on a metaquest 2

Howdy @ivan46460, I have researched this issue and have found a link to a steam forum thread with a quick fix here.
This issue seems to be created by an interaction between Gorilla Tag and your devices firewall.
@CPTLemon do you know if your son is using Steam to play this game, by connecting their headset to a computer, or if they are playing Gorilla Tag with the Headset alone? As this fix is specifically for PCVR.
Hope this helped!

Same but mine is quite different, I can join a public lobby with nobody in it and my name is what I set it to. I can join private lobbies with people but not pubs, it only does this to me when I play on PCVR.

Thanks @ThePeasKeeper .
He is just using his headset and is not connected to Steam. He can join private lobbies and play with a few friends, but still can’t join a public lobby.
Thanks.

Hey again @CPTLemon, if this issue is only affecting Gorilla Tag on his device then I would advise you to contact the games developers here.
I understand that this game must be very important to your son and that you want it fixed as quickly as possible. With that, I think the developers route would be the most successful.
Hope you get it fixed!

Hey there @CPTLemon, I'm just jumping in for our other team member here, as Gorilla Tag isn't affiliated with us on a level beyond just being supplied aha. As a result there isn't much direct support we can provide you.
My best guess based on research is that your son's account has been banned and he's now using a Guest account automatically? I'm not an expert, however.
I believe you can submit a ban appeal via this link. Best of luck!

Thanks @KaminasWife
Apparently, there are screens that go red or orange and let you know you are banned. His do not say anything like that. Thanks - I will check, but I don’t think it is anything to do with this from what I can see on his screen.
i will endeavour to follow up
