Gritty sound distortion

I have the oculus 2 it goes from a case to my head back to the case ..  I did the latest update and since then the sound has been gritty low and sounds underwater.  It mainly happens when I watch big screen or listen to music through YouTube when I play pool or cornhole. Or try to watch any type of movie.  I tried the support and went through all the avenues like factory setting reset and reboot and nothing is working!   Apparently my warranty has expired so and they don’t have anyone that can fix it so basically I purchased a 300 dollar item and purchased tons of games and all the accessories and batteries and headphones to  only have it for a year and half!  My only option according to Abdallah the support guy was to buy a new one!  So if these only last a year and a half why on earth would I buy a new one?
