Guardian floor problems

yodal.2023

I have a problem with the floor level never being remembered when I log in to a game such as Golf+, Totally Baseball and Walkabout Mini Golf. I have done a factory reset and remade my boundary several times. I erased my boundary history and made a new one but when I start an app, my boundary floor level shows about two feet off the floor. It's aggravating to have to redo my boundary every time I want to play. Please help.

Same here, since the latest update the floor regularly resets to around 2ft off the ground (only really play Golf+).  Annoying but sorry no solution.

I'm now thinking it might be because it is trying to be too clever  I use a stationary boundary that has a furniture item encroaching in the circle and the boundary is resetting to that height.  Not got the space to test this out at the moment.

Hi @yodal.2023!

Thank you for bringing this issue to our attention. We appreciate how having to re do your boundary every time you want to play can affect your overall gaming experience and we would be glad to give you a helping hand!

When the boundary floor level is not correctly detected or is fluctuating, you can try adjusting it manually or troubleshooting the setup. You can also clear the boundary history and re-establish it. Additionally, ensuring proper lighting and a clear play area can improve boundary detection.

Some additional Tips:

  • Check Experimental Settings: Go to Settings > System > Experimental Features and disable any height adjustment or lying down mode options, then restart your headset.
  • Clear Physical Space History: Go to Settings > Privacy and Safety > Device Permissions and clear the Physical Space History.
  • Consider using the controller-to-floor method: when setting up the floor level, as some find it more reliable.

If you still have issues, try restarting your headset.

If after trying all these steps, the issue still persist, we would recommend performing a bug report so that we can better understand the issue and review it with our team.

To submit a bug report, you need to:

  • Open the Meta Horizon mobile app on your phone.
  • Tap your avatar picture at the bottom, then tap in the top right.
  • Scroll down to Support, then tap Report an issue.
  • Tap Report a problem, then type an explanation where prompted.

Tried all of that including making sure no furniture or anything was in my boundary and still shows the floor level way up high when I start a game until I physically reset my Guardian every time! Very aggravating!

I reported this from my Quest 2 headset a few days ago. It has been going on for sometime. It may be related to the lying down mode.

Basically when I'm in the Virtual Environment and I reset the view with a long press of the Meta/Oculus button the viewpoint gets reset to as if I am sitting or lying down on the floor of the environment.  I can watch my virtual hands and controllers go through the floor.

This height setting gets carried over into almost all apps and games I have.

Using the Accessibility adjust height setting does not compensate high enough to be of any use.

In games my position is so low I cannot reach or see objects on tables or shelves. It's difficult to even reach door knobs in some games.
