Guardian issues on v71

What the hell has happened to the guardian.

Telling me to set it up again, sees floor level, click roomscale boundary and trying to draw my full room and it won't let me.  O lying let's me do 3/4 length of my room even though I just did room setup.

Once I've set roomscale, quest dash shows stationary but still roomscale active and the blue circle on floor just constantly there which never was when I had roomscale on.  Turn boundary off and the circle still there and if I move out of it then pass through comes on!

How to go back to v69 when it worked fine???

@OversizeWizard I'm guessing that you're on the Public Test  Channel PTC, and as beta software it's may have a few bugs.... okay, it has a lot of bugs. One of the bugs is that even if you leave the PTC you can't roll back to V69.

Hopefully V71 public release is more stable or V72 PTC sorts the issues out.

Hey there,

I understand the frustration when things are not working as usual. Due to the nature of test channels they can be quite prone to bugs and issues, please rest assured that the engineers are constantly working on implementations to squash these bugs and smooth out the overall experience.

In the meantime I would recommend submitting a bug report, you can view the steps on how to do so below:

How to report a bug on Meta Quest.

Finally here are a few troubleshooting options to try out hopefully they prove to be helpful for you:

1. Make sure the tracking is turned on

By default, the headset will use 6DoF tracking, unless it has been turned off in the Guardian settings panel or lost tracking while in VR.

  • Click on the clock on the left side of the universal menu
  • Select Settings
  • Select System from the Settings panel
  • Select Headset Tracking from the left side panel
  • Make sure Headset Tracking is ticked

2. Clear your boundary history

Bear in mind that if you have multiple accounts on the same headset, boundary history will be cleared for all accounts, not just the account you are currently using.

  • Press the Oculus/Meta logo on your right controller
  • Click on the clock on the left side of the universal menu
  • Select Settings
  • In the settings panel, select Boundary
  • Select 'Clear Boundary history'
  • Redraw your Guardian boundaries by selecting 'Adjust Boundary' from the Boundary settings menu

3. Reboot the headset

  • Turn the headset off, wait a minute or two, then turn it back on.
    • A restart is a little different so turning the headset off is recommended over just restarting

Left headset for hour in standby and circle is gone and showing boundary off.

Ps, it's android. Theres always a way to go back.

Meta just restrict you from doing it

Any android phone you can downgrade non-issue. I ly reason you can't on these is meta restrictions
