Anyone else have to disable HDR in windows everytime they use Quest link with a quest 2? If I do not I cannot view desktop and the oculus windows app is greyed out.

yes same issue. it only blacks out when i aim a controller at it... and to answer their questions, setup is good and i'm pretty sure it was working at first but i just got it, so i was trying all kinds of steamVR or anything VR i could find and messing with all the graghics settings in all the software including Nvidia 3D settings, so idk if I messed it up or what, but i did a clean wipe and install of windows and reset my Quest 2 and it still does it. One weird thing is if i make a duplicate Virtual desktop and move it to the side it stops doing it. i would like to use hdr so help?

Hello, hello, @xvxXxvxXxvx! We can certainly see how this issue would keep you from enjoying the virtual world of gaming on your PC, so we'd love to assist further! Moving forward, we wanted to recommend the following troubleshooting steps:

  • Make sure your GPU drivers are up to date.
  • Confirm that your PC meets the proper requirements to support Meta Quest Link.
  • Disable any VPNs or antivirus that could be interfering with the headset's connection.
  • Remove any extra USB devices from the computer except for what's necessary (mouse, keyboard, and Link cable,) then restart your PC.

this issue happens on every PC that has HDR enabled while using Airlink. is Meta even aware of this?

Hi there, @Shodan_Cat and @xvxXxvxXxvx! This is absolutely not an issue we want any of our users experiencing, so we're eager to continue working to get to the bottom of this. In addition to those troubleshooting steps we shared in our last post, we can also recommend uninstalling then reinstalling the desktop app using these specific instructions:

  1. Disconnect the Rift/Link cable from the computer
  2. Disconnect your computer from the internet
  3. Backup any necessary content
•You can find steps on how to do so by clicking here.
  4. Reboot into Safe Mode
•You can find steps on how to do so by clicking here.
  5. Uninstall the Oculus PC app using the Control Panel
•You can find steps on how to do so by clicking here.
  6. Delete all Oculus folders from the following folder:
    •C:\Program Files
  7. Remove any Oculus folders from the following locations:
    •C:\Users\YourUserProfile\AppData
    •C:\Users\YourUserProfile\AppData\Local
    •C:\Users\YourUserProfile\AppData\LocalLow
    •C:\Users\YourUserProfile\AppData\Roaming
    •C:\OculusSetup-DownloadCache
•Note: The AppData folder is usually hidden. Use these steps to access AppData.
    a. Press Windows key + R to launch the Run dialog window.
    b. Type %AppData% in the Run box and click OK or press Enter
    c. File Explorer will launch to the AppData\Roaming subfolder.
    d. Click AppData in the File Explorer address bar to show all three subfolders in the AppData location.
  8. Restart your computer in normal mode
  9. Reconnect your computer to the internet
  10. Install the Oculus PC app again using the setup tool from our website here
  11. Reconnect the Rift/Link cable and re-test the headset
