Yesterday, both my Instagram and Facebook accounts were compromised. Thankfully, I was able to recover my Instagram account, but I am still unable to regain access to my Facebook account.
When I try to recover my Facebook account using the ID verification or a recorded video, I receive a code that’s supposed to allow me to log in. However, when I click on the link, it loops me back to the "locked account" page. Despite multiple attempts, I am stuck in this loop.
After waiting 24 hours, I tried again, but this time, I noticed that i can no longer try to use the reactivation codes from my email, the hacker had changed my email address, unlinked my phone number and Whatsapp number.
I’ve made several attempts to connect with Facebook Support, but the hacker seems to be very experienced, and I can't regain access to my own account. Below are the steps I’ve tried so far:
Account recovery through facebook.com/hacked: The hacker changed the email address, phone number, and WhatsApp associated with the account, so the only recovery option is using the hacker's email.
Attempting recovery using different devices (PC, phone, and laptop): Despite using devices I've logged into my account with for years, I’m still being told that, "This must be a device you've used to log into this account before." (the hacker must've deleted the saved devices on his end?)
Subscribed to Meta Verified on Instagram (which is linked to the same Facebook account): I reached out to support via the live agent feature on Instagram, but I’ve yet to receive a resolution.
This account is extremely important to me as it serves as the administrator for our family’s business. I’m in urgent need of assistance to regain control.
Any help or guidance would be greatly appreciated.
