I preordered a Rift S the day of presales but after a week of having it I had to return the headset because of ipd issues. I wanted to exchange it in store (Best Buy) for a Quest (adjustable ipd no issues) but I couldn’t. My issue is I used a 20% off coupon with my original purchase at Best Buy. They won’t honor the coupon since it was used with purchasing the Rift S, even though I just want to exchange it for the same line of product, that cost exactly the same price.
I should have put in a support ticket and tried to exchange the Rift S for a Quest from Oculus directly but didn’t want to get stuck with a headset I can’t use since I wouldn’t be able to return the product to the store after the 5th.
Can Oculus help me out with purchasing a Quest for the price I paid for a Rift S? I don’t want to pay more for something just because the headset was incompatible with my ipd (outer edge blur with my 68.5 ipd). I have copies of receipts that I can submit.
is why i ordered on amazon , best buy is a bad return politicy ! i advise many people about that but many of them wanted get their headset before amazon now is sad to heard your trouble !
They have a horrible return policy. I spoke with someone Saturday and was assured I could return/exchange the headset and order a Quest with 20% off but when I went in on Sunday and actually returned the Rift S they told me I couldn’t use the coupon.
The only reason I got it from them was for the 20% off. I have to budget like crazy now and can’t just buy things for myself anymore after breaking my back at work 2 years ago.
