Has my Quest 3 controller developed a fault with the right controller?

This will be the 3rd Quest 3 headset that has gone back to Amazon if this is the same controller fault I had before. Amazon doesn't send out controllers you have to return the headset too. Anyway, I hope it can be fixed. What is happening is that my right controller doesn't work immediately when I put the headset on. Instead, it takes around 1 to 2 minutes to start working properly. The headset does see the faulty right controller straight away (as in I can see and move the controller in the headset), but none of the button presses register straight away as they do on the left controller.

This is the same problem that started with my other Quest 3 headset I had to return. The right controller developed this fault, where I had to wait 1 to 2 minutes before any buttons including trigger would register on my right controller. I have tried factory resetting the headset and re-pairing the controller, but I've had no joy getting it to work right. I've also replaced the batteries with new 1.5v ones. What could be causing this?

Hey there, @Fazz! These reoccurring controller issues sound like a headache! There are some things we can still try to sort this out.

Please try the following steps:

  • Clean the controller: Compressed air can be used to remove any debris inside the controller
  • Remove unsupported third-party accessories that may affect button movement or controller detection. For example, controller covers, controller attachments, etc.

Please let us know if those steps helped or if more assistance is needed!
