Headset HDMI or USB not being detected.

Day 1: Setup my brand new Oculus in room scale with 3 wall-mounted sensors. Working perfectly. At no stage did I tug the cords to potentially damage the connectors.

Day 2: Started playing again and working fine. As I have purchased an overhead cable management system), decided it was time to extend the headset's cables. Used the pictured components which are all brand new, the cables both 5m (15ft).

The connection didn't work. after research I found out this was possibly because the cables, even though brand new, were not those recommended by Oculus. Anyway never mind, I'll just buy the recommended cables later I thought, but for now I wanted to resume play, so I removed all extension components and plugged the headset back into the same ports they were plugged into before. Now neither the USB or HDMI of the headset are being detected. Tried various ports, removing sensor cables, everything. NOTHING WORKED.

Things I then tried:
* Plugging into every different HDMI and USB port on my machine (there are 3 & 8). Tried plugging a USB3.0 portable hard drive into each USB port and all work fine.
* Plugging the HDMI and USB in in isolation. Still not detecting anything.  Confirmed all the HDMI ports were working by plugging the monitor into each.
* Removing the cord at the headset end and making sure it was plugged in properly.
* Uninstalling Oculus and all drivers, registry settings, etc and reinstalling.

I was so happy after day 1 apart from cables hitting my legs. Now I'm shattered, my kid hasn't even been able to play their Christmas present yet. Any help appreciated. I'm in Australia so if the hardware is faulty it's going to take forever for a new unit to arrive, don't want to do that unless necessary.  And I'm not sure how long it will take for Oculus to respond. There is no phone support so I fear the worst.

I've been having issues with my headset not detecting HDMI and the only solution that worked for me is to reinstall my video card driver, unfortunately I have to do this every time I reboot my computer, Oculus support tried to help me but couldn't figure out what was causing it

Had the same thing happen to me just yesterday.
Try re-running OculusSetup.exe
At the beginning you'll hear the "new hardware" sound and the headset will be detected.
I let it re-download the drivers and re-install them and it worked, but in retrospective, I could have tried killing the setup process and seeing if it worked at that point.
Try it and let me know how it goes.
