While putting on the not inexpensive headset, the thin plastic bar that the headstrap feeds through broke. I’m really surprised this piece that is a focal stress point of the headset assembly is made of such small diameter plastic. What are the fixes for this issue. Looks like an engineering issue to me. Off the shop I go while I wait for a solution reply. Game over for today….

This is has also happened to me on my Q3, while putting on the headset, the pin just broke off. I immediately returned (via repair /return process) it the store that I bought from (CoolBlue in Belgium) . After a about week I received a email saying that my insurance claim had been processed and my account partial credit !? I replied directly saying i didn't agree as the headset is under warranty (bought on launch day). They are claiming it is "user damage" ( as verify by Meta) and clearly have idea about the headset design ,when strap connect is protected by the facial interface. I have tried explaining over several emails (two different languages and three weeks later still no process. Strangely enough, I had the same issue with my quest 2 (same store, back when they were the solo reseller Belgium) Again , a day one purchase but this the refund me in full and pro-rato on insurance .
I would really appreciate any help , as want to get a replacement headset as soon as possible but if I accept their I will be 138 Euro out of pocket for 5 month old headset which still is under warranty .I'm currently in limbo with my headset . My only other option is to open a legal case against which could take months.. which probably mean I will not that company nor buy another Meta product.

I'm still in contact with Meta Support and waiting for a solution that will uphold my legal consumer rights that the store doesn't want to honor (without the my for about a month at this point)

I just had the exact same thing happen. It effectively makes your VR headset completely useless since no headset strap can work with it. I have no idea what to do, but I feel like I paid enough that that should get fixed. Just really disappointed that they use such a cheap plastic piece there. I am not rough with this headset at all so this is disappointing.
