Help! No sound in a few games after recent updates on Oculus Pro

2 recent updates ago, the sound stopped working on 7th Guest and Brink. Other apps the sound is working.  I have tried restarting many times, reinstalling 7th Guest, nothing. 

The last update seemed to just update the controllers (which by the way, took away the ability to open any apps, but after I hard reset them it worked.)

Pro is fully updated/charged. Haven't had any issues before this. Using the Meta wired earbuds with it.

Never cleaned it, it's very clean and not overly used. No accessories. No button problems. As I said it works and selected meta apps ok but installed apps it didn't like.

Have you tried doing a factory reset on the controllers?

Yes I have done the hard reset twice along with a headset restart to get to to work again but this can't be a hardware issue on the controllers. It works just fine with the meta apps. This has happened twice since the last updates. 

Hey @Carpetbagger83. We appreciate your efforts so far in working with us to help you resolve your issue. It seems as though your controller issue may be linked to the app issue. If you're able to select a boundary and select the app store, then it sounds like your controllers aren't the issue. Have you considered the following options? 

 

  • Logging out of the Meta Quest mobile app.
  1. Hold the power button down until the shutdown options appear.
  2. Power off the headset. Do a full shutdown, not just a restart.
  3. Log out of the Meta Quest mobile app.
  4. Restart the mobile phone.
  5. Log in to the Meta Quest mobile app.
  6. Power the headset back on.
  • Uninstall that application, restart the headset, and reinstall the application.
  • Take a look into your settings to see if there's anything that could be prohibiting the non-meta-based apps from loading. (Going a step further to see if those apps are still compatible with your Quest 2 by visiting the developer sites may be something worth looking into as well.)
  • Back up the headset so you don't lose any information, and then perform a factory reset. This erases everything off your headset and returns it to the software state that it was in when you first took it out of the box, minus your software version update. Performing a factory reset is irreversible and will remove all account information, downloaded games, and content from the headset. All of your purchases are attached to your Meta account, so you will not lose any games.
