Hello, my Meta account has been suspended and I’ve submitted an appeal via Facebook but was denied even though I wasn’t given a chance to ask questions and provide facts. This has resulted in all my accounts across Facebook, Instagram and Whatsapp to be permanently disabled, and because they are tied to my personal phone number, I now have to get a new number just to use Whatsapp again (my main communication platform with family and friends), which doesn’t make sense as I’ve used the same number for the last ~ 20 years and I’ve not done anything wrong.
Suspension reason: Child sexual exploitation
When it happened: 13 May at about 7+am SGT
Potential trigger: Last night before I slept, I was scrolling through a Mummies Support Group on Facebook (this is a private group for mummies only to gather support and seek advice from other mummies) and I came across a post made by another mummy about her daughter’s health condition. She had uploaded a photo in the comments which showed her daughter’s anus so that she can seek advice from other mummies in the support group. While I viewed the photo, this was in the context of HEALTH PURPOSES and is NON-SEXUAL in nature. I have been wrongfully suspended for viewing the photo uploaded by someone else of which I did not even interact with (i.e did not like or comment on the post) and had no intention of sexual exploitation.
Please help to reopen my appeal and allow me to provide the facts in the necessary context. It is unfair to permanently disable all my accounts when I’m not allowed to provide any justification or context. Thank you.
