High GPU usage when using Oculus Link app and playing games.

This is a repost from reddit, because for some reason I couldn't verify the serial number of my Oculus Rift S on Oculus support page.

I've noticed a high GPU usage when using Oculus Link and when playing games.

Usually (around 1 month ago) the app and games used the GPU when the load was given, so the GPU Clock, GPU Memory and GPU Voltage were moving up and down depending on the load.

But recently I noticed that when I just only put my headset on, those readings are maxing out and staying maxed out (which causes an increase in GPU temperature) until the Oculus Link app is closed.

I use HWInfo and ASUS GPU Tweak III to monitor GPU readings. Also in task manager it doesn't show that GPU is being heavily used (showing around 4% - 5% load).

This is really bugging me out, because it slows down game performance (due to increased temps).

Here are my specs:

CPU - Intel I7 - 13700k

GPU - RTX 4070 TI

RAM - 48 Gb

I checked if the problem lies in the GPU driver, so I cleanly uninstalled it (using DDU) and updated to the newest version (566.36 at the time of writing), it didn't help and GPU readings were still maxing out. I then downgraded the driver to a more "stable" version (566.14) and the problem still persists.

I also tried to do what the Support bot suggested in the reddit thread, which is to set my graphics settings to default, but that can't be done, since the Graphics tab in Oculus Link app doesn't have a "default" setting for graphics for Oculus Rift S.

I have also tried to delete and reinstall Oculus Link app completely via the Windows Safe mode and deletion of the "Oculus" folders in C:\Users\User\AppData\Roaming, C:\Users\User\AppData\local and C:\Users\User\AppData\locallow, which didn't help to resolve the issue.

P.S. I also know that some programs are relying on Windows 11 Graphics features. Features which I enabled are: Hardware-accelerated GPU scheduling, Variable refresh rate, Optimizations for windowed games.
