Recently, we stopped supporting the older Oculus Home experience within the Rift software. This standalone app had some great customization features that we loved playing with, and hope to bring some of it into the future. We know this is disappointing news for everyone who loved using their Oculus Home, and we feel it too.

I am using the Quest 2 and I still lost access to my home and the home button when using pcvr.

When you connect your Quest 2 to your PC, you're no longer on "Quest" software. The PC VR software is also known as "Rift", so you wouldn't have the Oculus Home no matter what device you're on. I know it's a bummer, it seems like a lot of people will really miss this feature. If you have any ideas on how to improve the PC VR experience feel free to share here!

I would pay to access the rift home feature and I suspect many others would too.

Pour one out for the OG Home experience... I do feel like Meta knows this was a loved feature by many and hope/think they are going to implement it into new devices and software in the near future. Possibly a selling feature for the Quest 3??

Unfortunately there's no way a low-end processor like the one in Quest 3 estimated at only 2.4 tflops (Quest 2 at 1.2 tflops) can run software like the Oculus PCVR Homes.
Using Rift CV1 ss 2.3 my Home demanded all the power my oc'ed RTX 3090 could deliver to get solid 90 fps with all bells and whistles enabled. The oc'ed RTX 3090 has close to 40 tflops - about 15 times the estimated power of a Quest 3.
It would be a nice gesture for Meta to offer the PCVR Home app for free in the Store, if they no longer want it as an integrated part of the desktop app. 2c.

I would be very happy if they made it available in the store. I had many 3D models that I imported into my home. I spent countless hours in there.
Does anyone know of another VR "Home" style game that allows custom 3D models and environments? (Not ChatVR)

Meta seems clueless about what they just destroyed - and that users do not forget - your Home looked beyond awesome:
- and I guess ParadiseDecay, one of Meta's biggest fans and supporters, is still crying about his awesome destroyed home too:
I'm sure @ParadiseDecay must love what Meta just did to him... Yes, I'm being ironic!

This seems to be a theme with Meta. They stopped supporting a lot of things but forced you to stop using the old software/account. I am still trying to deal with the sound that keeps cutting in and out which didn't have an issue before this last few updates after being forced to switch to an Meta account.
Maybe it is time to move away from Oculus and try some other headset.
