How Do I Get Meta Support To Communicate With Me?

TarinCoyote

I bought a Quest 3 headset the first week of April and two months later, it started having issues when it was put under any kind of stress. When playing in standalone mode, it would randomly stop tracking my controllers and the screen would go black. When playing on AirLink or with a cable, the screen would freeze for a second, and a transparent border would form vertically down the middle of the left lens, and the two halves of the left lens would have their image out of sync with one another until I turned off and turned back on the headset.

On June 17 I was given a return shipping label, and sent the headset back to Meta and on July 2 the return was received and accepted.

Immediately though, I was emailed and told my address was suddenly invalid and that I needed to provide an alternate address for them to ship to. Initially I didn't have an alternate address to give Support, so they told me that was fine, and they'd see what their "specialist team" could do.
After several days with no communication, I contacted a family member and asked if I could use their address to have Meta ship my replacement headset to, and they agreed.

On July 4, my order was cancelled without any communication or a reason given, and July 5th was the last time anyone from Meta Support has talked to me at all, and it was to tell me they'd "raise the issue with the specialist team again". Literal radio silence for an entire week since then.

I have tried putting in a separate ticket, I've tried using the live chat on the support page, no one ever emails me back and now I have a replacement to my defective $500 headset just hanging in limbo somewhere.

Is there any way I can get Meta support to stop ignoring me? I've given them everything they've asked me for and they're just not communicating to me at all anymore

The golden rule with meta support is this: as soon as they mention their specialist team, they will stop responding to you. I've been around here for ages and seen no evidence that specialist teams exist - they are just a black hole to dump difficult calls into.

Take to twitter and address them directly and publically. That worked for my son when he ended up the clutches of the imaginary specialist team, and has for others too.
