For my meta vr account (which I have $50 credits and linked to a quest 3) I can't login due to 2FA with SMS. Somehow I do not recieve the sms code when asking for 2FA and I can't login.
When contacting support via live chat they had the case escalated to a higher up team. It's now been a month and no response from the higher up team. I ask the progress every 5 days and all I get is they are still working on it. How long do they take to review a case? It's insane.

I'm afraid it's pretty clear there is no escalation process of any worth. You have almost certainly only been in touch with an AI chatbot so far and as soon as it mentions a "specialized team" (is that what it said you were being escalated to?) it basically means it has given up on you.
If you are lucky, someone (human or bot) will be along with a DM link to contact them with. If you connect to a human you might get somewhere but account issues don't seem to be something they receive a lot of training in.

Pretty sure it's a human. Every time I reply to the email I get a reply similar to:
Thank you for keeping with us.
This is in line with the issue you had with logging in to your Meta account. We want to extend our sincere apologies as this has caused you so much inconvenience. Allow us to further look into this for you.
"Upon carefully checking it for you, our team is thoroughly reviewing your issue and will perform a thorough assessment to ensure a suitable resolution for your concern. As soon as the investigation is complete, we will reach out to you promptly via email with the next steps.
We're working hard with our team to prioritize your case because we understand the urgency and importance of having this resolved. We will do our best to get back to you with more information or an update as soon as possible.

I've talked to live chat a few more times but they always revert back to email after encountering technical issues in their end.

Opps didnt put the quotation marks in the right place. Every time they seem to have a different person answering shown at the ned of the email after 'sincerely'.

I've asked live chat for a phone number I could call but they said there isn't any. Only options are whatsapp (texting) and livechat but they've all being useless. Meta support is really the worst I've encounted.
