How to get Out of Warranty service

icarus1uk

This morning, I tried to switch on my Quest 3 headset to find it completely dead. I've been through all the suggested troubleshooting:

  • Charging it
  • Resetting by holding the power button for 30 seconds
  • Factory Resetting by holding the power and volume down button for 30 seconds

Despite these steps there are no signs of life. The charging light doesn't come on when plugged in. It's not had any hard bangs or falls so I suspect the battery has failed.

I tried navigating through the support pages and it does say for out warranty devices "Meta Store Support will work with you to facilitate the appropriate out-of-warranty service solution".

https://www.meta.com/en-gb/help/quest/4233856973304957/?srsltid=AfmBOoqbWE4U9bWUussQs93xBT-WmVKuDNZJ...

However, there doesn't seem to be anyway to contact Meta Support, just and endlessly looping support knowledgebase, presumably intended to make you give and just buy a new one.

How does one actually contact Meta Support?

Hi @icarus1uk 🙂

Get support | Meta Store

After log in to the website:

tap on your device - troubleshoot device or accessory issues - headset - headset charging or power - headset doesn't power on - finally "see support options"

This will give you the option to contact support via email, chat or whatsapp.

Hi @Choleni ,

Thanks for you reply. "Headset charging or power" isn't presented as an option.

For me it looks like that...maybe because I did it for the Quest 2, my Quest 3 has still warranty.🙂Screenshot 2025-05-23 at 17-04-26 Troubleshoot device Meta Store.png

Choose battery. Actually it's only important that you go through the steps for getting the email, chat, whatsapp option.

Thanks @Choleni

I managed to get through to them eventually.
