I was using Unity's videoplayer to play the mp4 stored in Movies, specifying it by path. (/mnt/sdcard/Movies/) However, the android version has been updated and it is no longer playable. I've done a lot of research, but I haven't been able to do it yet, so I'd like to know how to fix it.
My app Mobile VR Station has Android 12 file access working and its on App Lab. I spent months getting Android 12 to work, so I'm going to be vague.
You need to write a bunch of custom Java code, integrate it into the built app to request "Manage All Files". Manage All Files isn't a standard permission, it has a special call. Now Scoped Storage is a nightmare, and I had to crash the app in order for it to actually work and some of the buttons are invisible, the VR implementation is busted.
