I've been playing a lot of VR chat recently and I noticed while playing on the meta version it is more fluid than on steam VR but sadly, it seems my headset doesn't want my musical instruments: accordion, guitar, piano, violin. I would like to play for others but the only settings I could find on the headset for the mic was a button to switch it from on to off, not exactly what I need.
Anyway I know it's not a VRChat issue because I've tested it.
If anyone has any idea to fix my issue please tell me

Hey there!
We do not believe there to be a way to disable the noise cancelling on the standalone microphone.
The only option we could recommend is to use a separate microphone to pick up the instruments.
We hope this has answered your question.

Hi @SmolChicken45,
Thanks for reaching out to Meta Quest Support! We understand you're having trouble with the microphone picking up the sound from instruments when you're playing VRChat on your Quest headset.
Firstly, please could you confirm whether it works on the same headset in the SteamVR version? If so, it is a software issue and we will need to look into this further.
Thank you!

Ah yes thank you for responding,
As I've just tested, both version of VRChat is not getting the audio from my guitar and piano. Weirdly, it picks up my violin and my wind instruments. I know I could probably use my mic from an other headset(not the VR type) with steamVR but steam VR is laggy for me and I really like the hand tracking.
I really think it is a quest 3 related problem since I found other people on reddit having the same problem.

Hi SmolChicken45!
Thanks for the response. We understand this issue is consistent across our version of VRChat and the SteamVR version.
We want to make sure you have the best gaming experience possible, so here are a few further notes to consider:
- It appears possible your Quest's microphone is treating your violin/wind instruments as 'speech' due to them being played at mouth/chin-level, whereas other instruments are being treated as 'outside noise' and not being picked up
- As for some instruments being picked up, it could also be a frequency issue
- For the instruments that are not being picked up, could you try moving them closer to see if they can be picked up at all?
- Are you playing on PCVR or using your headset standalone?
- If you are not playing on PC, could you try on PCVR using Quest Link or Air Link?
We hope this helps!

Sadly moving the instrument closer would not be possible for playing for an extended period of time as well as it still doesn't work. for the most part I'm using my headset standalone, playing PCVR using quest link or air link is not possible since my PC doesn't have Bluetooth nor have I a long USB cable that meets the 5Gb requirement
I do agree that the instruments that are picked up are recognized as speech because of how the sound behave : bowed strings and wind are really similar to speech unlike plucked strings and whatever piano and accordion make.
My theory is still about the noise cancelling of the meta quest 3. by this logic I might want to turn it of (if possible) or play using a different mic, by connecting one on the headset or by using steamVR as a medium
