I can’t add payment method to verify child's account

I am trying to manage my childs account. Because he is using a 13+ account, and if i dont it will be suspended by july 19th. But when i try to do the step where i put my credit card information to confirm i am his parent/guardian  it says: “Sorry, Cannot add payment method” We Spent alot of money into games and apps for his account. We would apreciate it if you help us with this problem.

None of my Halifax bank cards worked. 
contacted the meta help - a waste of 7 days!! 
Ended up trying a NatWest card and it worked fine!

Hello there, @BrittvB! Encountering an error when attempting to complete the verification is not something we want to hear, and we can look into this further. With the error encountered when attempting to add the payment method, we would want to go through some browser troubleshooting steps that we have included below:

  • Clear the cache and cookies
  • Use a different browser
  • Attempt from another device such as a mobile phone
  • Use a different network such as mobile data

I am having the exact same problem.

I have attempted to verify the Parent Bank Card page using Iphone & laptop without success. 

I was able to add a new card to my own personal account. The only difference I noticed was that I could put a 'space' between the 2 parts of my UK post code (AB12 C34 rather than AB12C34).

Very frustrating and my sons VR headset is unusable till this is reseolved.

We first wanted to confirm, are you trying to verify your child's account or your own? The payment information must match the information on the account. So if you are using payment methods as a form of age verification, you would only be able to use your own payment methods for your own account. If you are trying to verify the age of your child's account, you would have to either use their own payment methods under their own information if they have any or use another method of verification.

I’m also having this same issue. I didn’t have my own account but when trying to create one for my son, I sorted my own account. I havent added payment details to my own account. 

I’ve gone through to add my child but when I try to verify the 0.81p parent verification it tells me it is unable add my form of payment. It’s a standard UK debit card. I have entered all the details correctly before you suggest that.

Yea I was trying with my Barclays debit which wouldn’t work. In the end I used my 10yo sons Starling card and it worked 🤷🏻‍:male_sign:
