I cant connect my quest to my pc

I recently broke my cable for quest link (it wasn't an official cable) and when I got a replacement (which was the same), I wanted to play pcvr when I got a hardware notification saying that my "meta quest link isn't working properly" which made me get stuck on the 3 dots. However, I can still hear audio coming from my PC so at least there is no damage to the ports and my cable. I already played pcvr on it before so there's also nothing wrong with the CPU, GPU and RAM as well...
I have already tried:
restarting both my PC and quest
switching USB ports
repairing the PC app and also uninstalling and reinstalling it
updating my USB drivers to the latest version
do the headset setup again

Hello @thediamondman199! We would love to help you with connecting your Quest 2 to your PC. We understand how much our users enjoy the PCVR experience, and we would help get to the bottom of this, so we can get you back to the games! We greatly appreciate the troubleshooting steps you have taken so far and, additionally, we would like to ask for some additional information in order to get a better understanding of the situation.

  • Is the customer connecting their USB cable to a USB 3.0 port?
  • Try using a original Meta Quest Link Cable
  • Is an adapter or cable extender being used? If possible, remove any adapters from the headset
  • If you are using a 3rd party cable please provide a link, so we can check the specifics.
  • How many other USB devices do you have connected to your PC?
    • Test with the bare minimum of USB devices connected to a PC (just keyboard and mouse).
    • Try the cable with other USB 3.0 ports.

We look forward to hearing back from you and assisting you further.

I have been plugging it into every USB 3.0 port, I will only get an official cable if there is no other choice, I don't use an adapter for my link cable, I am using a 3rd party cable but the new one is the same as my previous cable which broke that worked (the cable was able to do 2.3Gbps) so there shouldn't be any problem with the new one. I have 2 USB 3.0s, 1 USB type-c and 1 USB 2.0. I'm using the USB 2.0 for my mouse and I'm using the USB type-c for my second monitor; my PC is a laptop so I have the keyboard and mouse built right in (it is capable of running PCVR, obviously). Also, I just said that I tried switching different USB ports, it didn't work; I also tried with the bare minimum of USB devices like you said and that didn't work.

What I haven't tried was using air link, which unexpectedly got me the same notification so I guess this is a software issue now...

Since I found out that it is a software-related issue and nothing hardware-related, I can safely say that the 3rd party cable isn't the problem here...

Thank you so much for trying those troubleshooting steps. We would like to assist you in getting down to the bottom of this and figuring out what issues are causing this error within the software. We would like to go ahead and request that you send us a PM in order to protect your personal information. Please select our name to get to our profile page, or click here.
