After seven years, I have to give up permanently on Meta, due to its dishonest business practices.
Meta customer service is a disaster, to put it lightly.
In 2024 I bought two Quest 3, the annual Quest + subscription, many games. After literally 54 weeks of ownership both of my Quest 3 units show an issue were they fail to download or install apps and to load content on Meta apps.
After over a month of dealing with Meta’s Customer Service they rules it to be a “storage unit failure” and offered me “the one time good gesture” of replacing my broken unit with a refurb one UPON ME PAYING META $460 for this “previledge”.
Needless to tell you all that the MSRP of a brand new Quest 3 unit is $499 and it comes with two controllers ($150 value) and currently with a copy of the game Batman Arkham Shadow ($50 value). Additionally, Best Buy is offering a $50 gift card with this purchase.
It is sad how uncaring and fundamentally disrespectful Meta is to its customers. They give us the runaround of the the delay and deny customer service, in a calculated effort to make a good percentage of us to give up. For those who still persist, Meta has the audacity to present these “a gesture of good will” scams like the one they attempted on me.
I know I am not a single case, as the internet is littered with cases where Meta show even greater disdain to its customers.
That is why I Iost hope with Meta. I am canceling my Meta + subscription and will never buy or consume anything from Meta ever again. I’ve learned my lesson.
We knew it was the end when Meta bought Oculus, no surprises. Just another soulless corporation defending its stockholders interests above any pesky customer satisfaction “costs”.
