Let me explain the situation as it was before:
I use an Oculus Quest 2 (actually, two at the same time) to display projects for a company at various industrial fairs. I use VR Sketch and another Unity app developed by a colleague. Clients and visitors come to our booth, test the experience, and we cast directly from the Quest 2 to a Chromecast on the TV using wifi, simple, neat, wireless...but
Since the update made last September, this procedure now causes a constant and annoying glitch, significantly worsening the experience. I’ve temporarily solved this for short demos by streaming directly to the Oculus web mirroring on the PC and connecting the PC to the TV with HDMI. But, as you can understand, it’s too cumbersome, and I can’t have the PC, or worse, two, open there during the fairs.
I sent an error report, in fact, two, and there has been no solution. I’ve seen others complain about it too. I did the same here, and Meta simply washes their hands of it, saying that “Chromecast is not fully supported.”
Any ideas for streaming to a TV smoothly and without so much hassle?
