I need help with a referral Issue

I have looked everywhere for an awnsers, and now I am here. Whenever I try to use someone's device referral code, it just says "unable to accept referral". I live in a supported region, and I have no clue why it isn't working. Can somebody help me resolve this issue?

Just came on to find an answer as I have the exact same issue. 

I already own a Quest 2, I’ve never had any referrals before, I’m getting a Q3 tomorrow so friend sent me a referral link, but I’m getting the same error. 

is that because I already have a Q2 on my account? Do I need to remove that first?

Yes, it is.

These referral program is for new Quest user.....and "new" does not only mean new device, but also new to the Quest family🙂

Hey there, @PurpleSheepMan & @Goooner1! As @Choleni stated, you have to be a new user to the Quest family to use a referral. So if you already have a headset, the referral will not work. With that being said, we totally understand wanting to have all the details for our referral program. We also want to make sure we can alleviate any confusion or questions you might have.
