I still didn't get V62 update?!

I've been waiting for v62 for a while. I am especially looking forward to watch spatial videos in my Quest but it's Feb. 12th and my headset still hasn't received the update.

The official release date is "the week of Feb. 7th". What does this mean?

Is there a way to upload a firmware to my headset manually?

Best regards,

HI @thekhan

The official release date is "the week of Feb. 7th". What does this mean?

That means in that week the roll out of the update is starting. New versions are always rolled out in waves.

Also, the features in the versions are rolled out gradually. So, even if you have v62, it does not mean you have immediatly the feature to watch spatial videos.

Here in forum are users, who already received v62, but not that feature yet.

I get the update about 4 weeks after the rollout begins. I'm most likely one of the last to receive updates.

Late updates don't have to be the worst thing....if there are any bugs, they may be fixed by the time I get the new version.😂

There is no option to force the update. I believe, if you have enabled PTC, you normally also get the normal version earlier.

But that's only my experience with enabled PTC on pc app....nothing proove.

Greetings,@URherenow! Thank you for bringing this to our attention. Just so we are both on the same page, at this time are you able to us the spatial video option as of now on your Quest 3 device? Have you already followed the steps to view spatial videos on Meta Quest?

  • From your Meta Quest headset, press / on your controller to open the universal menu.
  • Select Apps.
  • Select the Files app.
  • Select Spatial videos from the left menu.
  • Select the video you want to view.

However, if you're still having trouble after trying those steps, please don't hesitate to reach back out and let us know. We'll also be here if you have any other questions or concerns. We can't wait to hear back from you! Have a fantastic rest of your day!

Same boat here, I have not find a way to push this update manually. Why would they not push this updates at the same time everywhere, or at least give a timeline of how this is deployed, is extremely annoying.

Yes there is. The question is, where can it be downloaded? I found only 1 site with Quest 3 firmwares, and there are 2 that are for version 62... however the newest build date is from 22 January. I installed that, but still cannot figure out the spatial video thing... so it may not be the final (the version is 62.0.0.196.343.558781881).
At any rate, you need to download adb, and use that to sideload. You power on the headset while holding vol -, to get the menu that lets you select the mode for sideloading firmware (vol buttons navigate the menu and power is the select button).

it's so dumb that they dont have an update button... i get pumped when i read about a new feature, i clean the dust of my quest only to find i won't get it for weeks, even after the public release. so i leave the device collecting dust again. i hate it...

I still didn't have the spatial video options as of yesterday, even though I manually updated to a v62 firmware (but the only one I could find online, was a build from January, and a lower version number than I've seen reported by people... and the support person I was chatting with because I need to RMA my right controller for tracking issues, said I had the latest... WRONG!). I turned on PTC from my phone, restarted my headset, then went back to the software update in settings. It immediately found an update and it was like 1.15GB (I'm assuming because it included the sample spatial video files). Now I have the option and it works. Kind of. In my initial test, The video I took with my 15 pro max, looks heavily cropped.

Finally I've received the update a couple hours ago.

It was worth to wait!

Even this small problem of mine, once again showed me Meta's ambitious commitment to Quest as a platform.  Thanks for all the support and keep the updates & new features coming:)
