If I modify my native headset resolution, will it carry over through Link Cable/Air Link?

Hey there, everyone!

I'm sorry if this sort of thing has been asked before but personally I couldn't find an answer to save my life. Also, the questions might be stupid, but then again, I'm not that experienced when it comes to VR, at least not yet. Still getting the hang of it all, so please don't hate.

Anyway, it is my understanding that if I connect my HMD (I have a Quest 2) to my PC, set a resolution through the Meta PC Link app (let's say 1.3x) and then start any SteamVR game, if the game in question (or maybe even SteamVR itself) is set to, let's say, its own separate 1.3x resolution through SteamVR, then the end result would be that the resolutions would basically stack together and I'd get horrible performance.

With that in mind, now comes my question, or rather, questions. If I modify my HMD in-headset native resolution (via either the SideQuest app or the SideQuestOptimizer app) to anything above 1.0 (let's say I set it to 1.2x) and then connect the HMD to my PC via either Cable Link or Air Link, do the standalone in-headset settings/resolution/etc. carry over through the PC Link and stack with whatever I have running on my PC, like the Meta Link app/SideQuest app/SteamVR etc., or are the settings within the PC Link connection completely independent from the native HMD settings?

So once more, when I connect my HMD to my PC via Cable Link or Air Link, do any of the native HMD settings carry over? Or upon connecting the headset to my PC, do the PC apps take full control of the HMD settings and disregard the ones set within it when using the HMD in question as standalone?

I hope I was clear enough as to what exactly is puzzling me and I thank you in advance for any help provided.
