Initial setup does not work, probably due to wrong time

I have a brand new Quest 3, but the setup fails as I cannot get it to connect to the internet. I can connect to WiFi, but the connection is shown as "limited" and the subsequent mandatory fails. Restarting the device and even a factory reset did not help. I found one other entry in the forum mentioning the problem roots in the time on the device being wrong, and I also remember the same very issue from Android phones. However, the issue is that I see no way of adjustig the time on the device as I cannot get past the initial setup. In other words, the device is bricked for all intents and purposes. How can I fix this?

OK, I was too annoyed yesterday night to try this, but it seems once the device has the update via a non-Cisco AP, it starts working with those again. As I have already spent too much time on that, I will just update all devices via UniFi and connect to Cisco later. Thanks everyone for your suggestions.

Is your network dual band or split?

I know just enough about tech to look like I know what I'm doing.

Dual band. Please note that I know that the glasses can connect to the WiFi and that they get a correct IP with a valid router. I can ping the device. The problem is that I cannot get past the update screen and the "limited" connectivity with all WiFi networks I have tested is a strong indication that the issue is not on the network layer, but related to the TLS certificates.

@wearevisus  have you tried setting up the headset using the developer hub as this doesn't use wifi.

Set Up Headset with MQDH | Meta Horizon OS Developers

Four Rift CV1s, Quest 2, Quest 3, Lenovo Explorer WMR, GearVR

I wasn't aware of that, but will try now.

Well, it works up to the point where I must setup the WiFi. The MQDH says "Unable to set network on headset". On the headset itself, it shows the same limited connection with correct IP and router as before.

Have you tried using your phone wifi as a hotspot for the headset to connect to?

Good idea - I have already tried that to no avail unfortunately 😞

I have now opened a case with Meta support on that. However, if anyone has some genius idea, I am happy to try any suggestion.

I’d still recommend splitting and try 5g.
