So I was just hoping if anyone has had a similar experience or might be able to help with what appears to be a really weird bug ?
A couple of weeks or so ago I got an email saying my account would be changed to a teen account - I am for full context in my thirties - and was super confused. Logged into the meta accounts settings on instagram to see my birth date had been changed - not by me. I promptly change it back.
Only to find that this error has somehow happened again and now my account is limited to only receiving messages from people I am following. This is super frustrating as I use instagram for work and need people to be able to contact me there freely.
Attempted to change my birth date again, attaching ID with proof of my date of birth, only for an error to appear saying that I must contact support.
I have tried reporting the issue via Instagram, haven't had any response and am really frustrated and worried as this is actively affecting my livelihood now, most people find my small business through instagram and I never initiated the teen account in the first place !!
Hoping that maybe someone here has either encountered this previously and has fixed it or can advise any other way of sorting this out ?
Honestly super disappointed in Meta's lack of support with an issue that I can only presume is caused by a technical issue on their end in the first place.
