Instructions for moving the oculus software to a different drive ?

Hi,

I just want to make sure that I know what I'm doing when I uninstall my oculus from my C: drive. Please tell me if I'm missing any steps.  Uninstall program from win program manager then just reinstall on the new drive? Will I have to redownload all of my software?  My biggest issue is that my C: drive needs more space in order for it to perform. It's old but still a sweet machine when I keep up with data management. Thanks In Advance, Amanda

Hey there! We understand you want to clear up some space on your C:\ drive and move your software to another drive. We recommend performing a clean uninstall of Oculus home on that that drive first:

  1. Disconnect your computer from the internet.
  2. Backup any necessary content.
  3. Reboot into Safe Mode.
  4. Uninstall Oculus PC app using the Control Panel.
  5. Delete all Oculus folders from the following folder:
    • C:\Program Files
  6. Remove any Oculus folders from the following locations:
    • C:\Users\YourUserProfile\AppData
    • C:\Users\YourUserProfile\AppData\Local
    • C:\Users\YourUserProfile\AppData\LocalLow
    • C:\Users\YourUserProfile\AppData\Roaming
    • C:\OculusSetup-DownloadCache
  7. Restart your computer in normal mode.
  8. Reconnect your computer to the internet.
  9. Install Oculus PC app again using the setup tool from our website here.

We also have a very helpful support article on how to install the Oculus PC app on a different system drive
