Intermittent flashing in headset

I've noticed I'm starting to see intermittent flashing in my headset. It happens in every app as well as in Home. It seems to be gradually getting worse. On one or two occasions, it flashed long enough for me to see what it is: actually a form of color noise that fills the screen. Like this:

It it seems to happen in both eyes simultaneously, making me think it isn't just one display going out, but something that controls or affects both displays. What's more, I am starting to notice that there are tiny specks that appear in my vision pretty much all the time. These are not too noticeable, but you can see them in dark areas. I did a forum search and did not find this exact problem discussed before. Anyone else experienced this?

Cyber was this resolved? How?
What video card are you using? I'm using an EVGA 980Ti classified edition. I did find an article where it said HDMI ports on Nvidia GPU have issues with Oculus specifically giving that static screen. It said to resolve it you have to connect the oculus to the display port or DVI using an adapter.

Wow, I wonder if this is GPU related.  I have seen that screen come up every now and then, but not in the HMD.  It is when I'll be watching Netflix or some streaming show, it will sometimes flash an image like that on the screen, not just the part playing the video, but the entire screen.  Like an old tv that couldn't pick up a station.  Possibly a driver issue or heat on the GPU?  I don't know, but the fact that it happens to me outside the HMD and I'm using an Nvidia GPU seems.... Coincidental?  But are you using an Nvidia GPU?  I have  GTX 1060 6GB.  I don't use the latest drivers because they seem to always break the rifts performance if I get them when they come out, then I just forget and never update them until stuff stops working.  Maybe I should update them.
