Internet doesn't work for non-Meta games

Whenever I play a multiplayer game like Gorilla Tag, the internet doesn’t work even though I’m connected to a perfect 5GHz wifi. Strangely, this only happens in games that are not made by Meta. My wifi in Meta Horizon Worlds works just fine but doesn’t work for any other game. For some games, the internet would last for a few seconds. But in other games, it would just not work completely. I had reconnected my wifi and restarted my Quest 3. What do I do here?

Hello there @Sergant_crazypants, we're glad to hear you've already tried troubleshooting! We understand how connectivity issues when playing games may derail you from an amazing VR experience, and we definitely want to ensure you're able to use your headset to the fullest. With that said, to help us understand, could you please provide the following:

  • What other troubleshooting steps have you tried?
  • Are the games downloaded from a Meta platform or a side-loading platform? (Steam, SideQuest, etc.)
  • How long has this problem occurred?

We look forward to assisting you!

@MetaQuestSupport  The games are from a Meta platform and the problem has been occurring for 4 days. I have found a fix for one game where I can still join lobbies but I get disconnected after around a minute of being in it. I have also uninstalled and reinstalled apps as another troubleshooting method.

Hi @Sergant_crazypants, Thank you for that information. We have a few other troubleshooting steps we would like you to try before we proceed further. If you could give these a go and let us know your results, we would appreciate it.

  • Reboot the headset.
  • Remove any unsupported third-party accessories that may affect communication (such as headset covers, etc.)
  • Try connecting to a different network.
  • Perform a factory reset.

We appreciate your time and look forward to your response. Talk soon!
