I've been using my Quest 3 while plugged in for long VRChat sessions—sometimes for hours on end—for about a year now, and it never gave me any trouble. But recently, it stopped charging properly. The battery percentage doesn't increase even when it's plugged in; it just holds its charge.
Most of the cables I've used (or tried to buy) are low quality—they bend, break, or stop working way too quickly. So even when plugged in, the battery slowly drains over time.
My main concern is: When the battery eventually hits 0%, will the headset still work while plugged in? I've looked into replacing the battery, but shipping restrictions prevent batteries from being sent here from the U.S. And as far as I know, official repair services for the Quest don't exist in my country.
Is my Quest 3 doomed once the battery fully dies? Has anyone faced a similar issue?
Important information: I play with it plugged into a power outlet using a 60W charger. I use PC VR via Wi-Fi 6, so I don’t rely on the PC's power since the Quest 3 is directly connected to the power outlet.
I've already tried leaving it charging both turned off and in standby mode for a few days, but it made no difference. I also tried it in boot mode and didn't notice any change. I'm still having the same issue.

Yes, I noticed it's the same issue reported by the community. What I can do is wait for a new update that fixes the problem. Unfortunately, I live in a country where Meta doesn’t offer warranty, but I feel more relieved knowing it's a firmware issue and not a problem with my battery

Without knowing more; was the cable just free hanging or did it have support on the side?
Its possible that frequent use has caused the port to dislodge its solder connections, which is why it no longer charges.
It could be that the cables you are using are just poor quality and you just need a higher quality one.

You could buy a cheap charging dock or borrow one would be better to see if you can get it to charge that way. If it works it will keep you going for a while longer if indeed the charging port is on the way out.

@fredericopprado does the headset register that it's plugged in to a charger even the the amount of charge doesn't increase? Has the connector been damaged, does it look damaged, melted or burned? What version of software is the headset on as the latest V74 is causing some charging issues. If the headset is still in warranty you might be able to get it replaced if the connector is faulty. If not there are companies that fix VR headsets.
