Is it possible to pair a bluetooth Xbox Controller with the Meta Quest 3 headset?

Hi,

I'm curious if the following is possible:

Is it possible to pair a bluetooth Xbox Controller with the Meta Quest 3 headset?

Seems like this was possible in the past but maybe disabled?

In the Meta Quest app on iPhone I can:

  1. locate the headset
  2. go into Headset Settings
  3. select Controllers
  4. select + Pair New Controller

At this point it just has options to pair Meta Quest 3 and Pro Controller (both left and right options) but no gamepads.

Thanks for any help!

Nevermind.  Found it!

You have to go into the headset device itself (put it on)

  1. go to the Settings app
  2. go to Devices section
  3. go to Bluetooth section
  4. select Pair button on the left
  5. select + Pair New Device
  6. activate the bluetooth pairing sequence on your controller
  7. wait for it show up in the device list, select it, and it will work!

One issue is only some xbox controllers have bluetooth.

If your controller looks like the top one (the front top piece is separate to the main body) then it doesn't have blue tooth. (The xbox one controllers that came with the Rift CV1 are these models)

If it looks like the bottom or it's an Xbox Series S/X controller, then it does have bluetooth.

Hi, my controller is like the bottom one, however, it does not appear on the devices list in the bluetooth settings of my quest 2. Do you have any solution to this? Thanks.

Both my Meta Quest 2 & 3 have the same issue.  If anyone has any solutions I would like to know.
