Is there a way to monitor status of Headset (If on Head or Off the head?)

I need a hook to be able to control my Phillips Hue Lights. I want to be able to dim all lights in the room and go into VR mode with a preselected scene.

I can do it on Oculus App open .. that's easy, but would be great if the lights would dim when I put the headset on and bring back up when I take it off.

All I need is a process to hook into.

You can see if the headset is in use by checking "HmdMounted" in "ovr_GetSessionStatus" from the SDK. However, this only works after you've initialized a VR app (one you wrote yourself). And since there can only be one VR app loaded at a time, I don't think this method would work.

Ah bugger, It will have to be just tied to the Oculus App then ... Its still pretty neat 🙂 .. I also have a Cortana Command "Hey Cortana, Engage VR" to open the app which in turn preps the room (dims lights, makes sure any outside audio is off etc)
