Issues with Casting

Hello,

I'm reaching out on behalf of one of our users that reports issues with casting. He says it is not working even though both the computer and headset are on the same network. He followed the steps in the guide below, but had no luck:

Is there another guide I can refer him to, or would it be best if he reaches out directly to your team? Thank you!

hello, i am having the same exact issues but the troubleshooting guide isn't working either, are there and other ways to try and fix this?

my apologies for not answering before now, i just recieved the email notification.

but to answer the questions from before, i had to use a youtube tutorial on how to do it, someone then showed the oculus.con/casting site, which they then said would be the key to casting from the oculus quest 2 to a laptop/pc, but it didn't work, it kept saying there was something wrong with the website and to refresh it, which i did, quite a few times. for the casting from the oculus i went to the camera setting, clicked cast and chose desktop, but it wouldn't connect, to which, i pulled up the guide, that didn't work, then went to the troubleshooting guide which didn't work either, and so then this.

it's also worth to note that both devices are up-to-date with updates and there shouldn't be any issues.

as for what i was trying to cast, it was Five Nights at Freddys: help wanted 2

We have some things for you to try:

  • Please power cycle your network, headset, and computer.
  • Please try a different browser to access the casting page.
    • You can also clear the cache, cookies, and browsing history of your main browser and try again.
  • Confirm that not only are your devices on the same network, but also the same channel if your router has different channels (5 GHz vs. 2 GHz).
  • Try to limit any interference between your casting device, your router, and the Quest Headset.
    • For example, ensure that your router, headset, and PC are as close together as possible.
  • Make sure that you are not using a VPN.
  • Make sure that you are not using a mesh network.
  • Make sure that you are logged in to the same account on both the headset and the browser.
  • Please wait a full 5 minutes for the connection to be established.
