Known Issue - Black bar when accessing store (Link/Air Link)

When I’m using the AirLink and I’m on my VR desktop, I will click on the store and the store doesn't appear.  Instead a black bar pops up in my view about the same shape and size as the Oculus frame and wherever I look, it moves with me.  When I want it go to away, I have to unlink and relink my connection.  But, it reappears each time I want to visit the store on the VR desktop.

 

Has anyone else run into this issue and know of a solution?

I have just bought a Quest 2 system and link cable ie 48hrs ago and was so disappointed that on my very first attempt to access the Store using the Quest taskbar I got a big black rectangle which moved with the headset.

Being a newbie to Oculus I thought spending over £300 would guarntee a smooth and perfect intro to VR

Not so and I am very disappointed

Any thoughts,help ,would be most gratefully received

Obviously the Quset 2 works without a PC as I'm sure you know. But to access  via PC you need to ensure your PC spec is OK ie i7 or Ryzqm 9 ideally and graphics card needs to be Nividia 1060 minimum (according to NVIDIA App). I have been contacted many times from Oculus support on this and they blamed my 1050ti graphics card but my argument was it worked perfectly before. Then they said Windows 11 not supported at the moment but I have Windows 10 anyway. I have and Asus Rog Strix Ryzan 9 5900HX Laptop arriving tomorrow with RTX 3080 graphics card, let's see what a happens now! As this beast will play anything on Ultra! I hope it works and if the rectangle still there they asked me to contact again. I don't think they realise or care to realise how many have this issue?

Hey everyone! This should have been fixed in V39, but it's pretty apparent that it's still a glaring issue within the community, so I'm going to bring it up to our engineering team to see if we can get a pair of eyes on it.

 

For now, please keep posting your reports for the team, and we'll be posting updates here as we get them. Be sure to subscribe to the thread for notifications.

 

Update: The team has made some improvements for Link in v41, so as that rolls out, please test this out again and let us know if you're still seeing the issue. If you are, please report the issue using the report a bug feature, and we'll continue to monitor reports to see if the issue comes up again.

I’ve been having that issue. Just came in to ask about it and I see it’s been going on awhile.

At least I know there is nothing wrong with my head sets. Still happening.

Everything just updated v40. Problem still exists in new version.

Same problem with me - black box obscuring the centre of the screen - makes no sense how something so glaringly obvious gets through your QA department, do they actually test any of these basic functions ? Not only that I can see you do new releases without even considering what might need fixing. Just bundle up "new features", dont worry about the basic stuff thats broken. Typical dev team run by marketing dept, with a weak program manager who doesnt care about quality.

Also happens when using link cable for me (both Q2 and PC software at v40).
