Left Controller disconnects and won't reconnect without battery pull

So I've developed an issue lately. Seems to be mostly with the left controller and it goes like this: I'll set the controllers down for a bit because I'm watching a concert in Meta TV, or I'm using Virtual Desktop and typing and using the mouse on my computer. Eventually I get a notification reading "Your left controller has disconnected. Press any button to wake it back up" (paraphrased). I cannot get the controller to reconnect no matter which button I press or how many times I press it. Instead, the only ways I can bring it back are: pulling and reinserting the battery, or sticking the controller on the wireless charger for a minute.

This does happen with the right controller as well, but not very often. I have the official wireless charging dock from Meta, the official Meta controller strap battery covers, and official wireless batteries in the controllers. I'm on v68 and have not yet received the v69 update. 

Since I've seen others mentioning similar issues, I'm assuming this is a known issue that will hopefully be resolved in the next update, but in case it's not at that state yet, I wanted to post about it. Has anyone found any better workarounds than battery pulls?
