Left Controller problem

So I went and replace the battery and put in a new normal battery that is the recommended type and I tried to turn on the left controller and it didn't work, later I decided to switch the batteries between both and the battery worked perfectly fine. That told me there was something wrong with the controller. Turns out that the metal piece that comes into contact with the positive side of the controller sunk in in leaving the plastic covering to stay on the outside causing the dimple on the positive side of the battery to not be able to touch the connector. I will link two photos of one one that is perfectly fine and one that is not. I hope from this that I can return leave controller and get a new one because I'm not planning to switch anytime with the great success in this product .

and this left controller isn't sadly. For extra information this product did not show this at the start it came up after, The product was not used beforehand, and was not used improperly nor tampered with.

So me and my dad where thinking how to fix it and he said "why don't you try and twist the metal piece?" I was confused but I did and it only fixed it! It may be temporary but a good solution if anyone else experienced this!
