Left controllers meta quest 2 not working

I have several meta quest 2 points and many of them have the same problem. The left controller just stops working on its own, I use 1.2v rechargeable batteries. I sent them in for repairs, they don’t know what to do with them, it turns out to leave only one side of tracking. Has anyone encountered such a problem? what to do?

Hey, hey, @OMOH619! We're just popping in since we noticed that you're having some difficulties with your left controller unpairing. We definitely get the inconvenience that this brings when trying to use those controllers to enjoy a stellar VR experience. We certainly don't want you to continue dealing with this any longer, so we'd love to look into this with you! In order for us to get a bit more insight on this, we'd like to ask you a few questions. Please respond by answering the following questions; we look forward to hearing back from you!

  • Has your play area changed recently?
  • Have you tried different play spaces?
  • Has the tracking worked properly before?
  • Are you using any third-party accessories or covers with your device?
  • Are you experiencing this issue with both controllers?
  • When does this issue occur? Does it happen only in certain games? Does it happen in the home environment or on menus?

No, my playground has not changed, we have tried different playgrounds and the problem persists. Previously the tracking worked as it should. I don’t use cases or other devices. The problem only occurs on the left controllers, I can’t say after what point this happens and what is the reason for it, it just stops working. This problem happens everywhere, in games, in menus, and so on.

I sent the controller in for repair, the repairman could not find the problem and a way to completely solve it, but when you turn off one of the tracking sides and leave one tracked side (left or right), then one tracked side works correctly.

The problem appears more and more on new controllers

We appreciate you providing that information, @OMOH619! You had mentioned using 1.2v rechargeable batteries- we recommend that you use 1.5v batteries instead, as 1.2v is too weak of a voltage to allow continuous power cycling throughout the controller. We'd love to know if making this adjustment does the trick for you, so please let us know once you've been able to try it out!

Dropping by to see if you'd had an opportunity to try out the 1.5v batteries for your controllers? We're here to help you out with whatever issues you might encounter!
