Left oculus quest controller not detecting up/forward movement

My left controller won't detect when I'm moving forward or up. I've unpaired and paired it and took the battery out for 30 minutes and put in a new one and nothing is working. There doesn't look to be any damage to it and it isn't really that old. Any ideas on what to do???

Hello there! We hope you're having a great day. We see you're having problems with your controller, which we understand can be frustrating. That is taking time away from your gaming. But don't worry, we'll take care of you. Could you please try the following steps:

  1. Go to Settings
  2. Go to Controller Settings
  3. Under Joystick Deadzone and Range, select the joystick which is having issue
  4. Follow on-screen instructions to recalibrate the joysticks deadzones
  • When powering on your controllers, ensure that the Analog sticks aren't being held in any direction and are at rest in the neutral position.

Please let us know if these instructions were beneficial. If you are still experiencing problems, you can submit a support ticket for further troubleshooting and assistance.

I'm having the same problem but ive tried all you've suggested and it still only picked up half the joystick movement

Hey there, @DragonKing1995! We want to do our best to make sure you controllers are giving you the smoothest experience in VR, so we'd love to assist further! To begin with, let's clarify the following details so we can have a better idea of this situation:

  • When did this issue begin? Has your joystick ever worked properly in the past?
  • Have you tried to clean this controller using these approved methods? (Compressed air can be used to remove debris inside the controller.)
  • Have you tried a different brand of battery at all?
  • What specifically is happening in VR when you are using this controller?

apprecaite the attempt to try and help but it's continuing to not let me move forward, I've taken out and put back in seperate batteries. perhaps it's a problem with the controller itself?
