Link cable with USB adapter not detected

so, I have had a quest 2 for a few months now and I just recently bought a link cable to enhance my PCVR experience, however my gaming pc does not have a USB type-c port. I decided to buy an adapter to connect the link cable to my USB 3.0 port. The adapter specs seemed up to standard but when using the link cable connected to the adapter and oculus does not detect the cable plugged in however it still charges. I'm wondering if anyone can give me a suggestion on what to do or if anyone has found a solution to my problem.

Thanks - W1reless

Hi @W1reless_G4mer  have you bought an official metal link cable as some other USB-C cables are power only and not power and data. The same goes for USB-A 3,0 to USB-C which can also be power only.

Four Rift CV1s, Quest 2, Quest 3.

Yes, I bought the official link cable firsthand from the meta quest site

Hey @W1reless_G4mer! We appreciate you reaching out about this. While some third party accessories may work, we cannot guarantee their compatibility all the time. Some cables cause signal issues with the cables and software detection. They are also known to be the cause of other display issues. Link requires a high-quality USB cable capable of supporting data and power. You'll also want to make sure that the USB cable is at least 3 meters (10 feet) for an optimal and comfortable experience. Quality can vary across third-party cables, we've tested the Anker cable internally with good results. You can also reference this link for more details. We hope this helps!

@W1reless_G4mer  Adapters for the official link cable can be a bit hit and miss.  The only one I've found works well is the CastleCreations usb to type c 3.1 gen2 adapter I bought from Amazon.

Search your local Amazon store and you should be able to find it.  Good luck mate and cheers.
