Link support for Quest 1 is stuttering big time due to updates.

Hi, I want to get into contact with Meta customer support, but it is nearly impossible. Can an admin assist me specifically with my Quest 1, since the help portal does not have any options for this model.

Back in 2020 with HL Alyx my PC ran Alyx at max graphics with a solid FPS. No stutter on USB Link what so ever.  But now it lags big time.   Third party software like VR desktop and ALVR has it's own issues and does not come close to the original LINK software.   Can an Admin or user assist me with this issue please.

Stuff I've tried:
Disabled guardian, lowered settings to minimal, rolled back drivers etc.

I am 100% sure the Meta PC app broke the link support.

ha, this is what they said:

Hi there!

We totally get that you're having some trouble with lag when you're using the Meta Quest Link with your Quest 1. We're here to help make your gaming experience better.

We wanted to make you aware of the following: The Quest 1 End of Life was announced a couple of years ago, and users may experience performance degradation over time. Some more information about this can be found on the following link: ....

Unfortunately, it is not possible to roll back updates for the Meta Quest link. However, there are a few steps you can try to resolve any performance issues.

  • Disable Wi-Fi on the Quest Headset.
  • Make sure your Link graphics settings are set to default:
    1. Open the Meta Quest Link app on your computer.
    2. Click Devices on the left side of the app.
    3. Click Quest and Touch.
    4. Click Graphics Preferences.
    5. Click Reset to default.
    6. Click Save and Restart

  • Uninstall ASUS AI Suite or ASUS AI Suite 3 if installed
  • Uninstall Oculus Tray Tool if installed, as it contains settings for resolution, super sampling, etc.

Some additional troubleshooting steps can also be found on the following link: ...

I don't get it tho? The PC is the one that has to do all the processing? and my RTX2070 is more than capable for HL Alyx

@Oby_1  the meta support bot has no idea what it's talking about. link/airlink is garbage. Try steamlink or virtual desktop for issue free streaming.

Yes, the pc is doing the work....but the link app have to stream it to your headset. That's the problem, not your pc.

Steam link won't work for Quest 1 .... but Virtual desktop.

The quest link Windows app still connects, but it's absolute garbage now.    Wish someone can make a rollback to a previous version.

Most likely you are not the only one with this wish.
