In my Facebook feed near the top right is a bell-shaped icon which opens with a list of notifications when you click on it. Of late I’ve been receiving notifications such as “Joe Blow has mentioned you in a comment” or “Jane Plain commented on your photo in Street Photography”.
When I click on the notification where someone has mentioned me, I am not taken back to the post where I could see that comment, but am instead just taken to the video associated with that post - with no way to get back to the post. Why notify me about a comment when there is no way to actually see the comment?
Likewise, when I click on the notification for Jane’s comment on my photo, I get taken to the post with my photo, but Jane’s comment is nowhere to be seen. In fact there is only one comment there, and it’s not from Jane. There is also a message at the bottom of the post which says that “Commenting for this post was turned off automatically.”. Turned off by who - not me, and if it actually was turned off why do I keep getting notifications that this person or that has commented on the photo. It seems that I am the only person who can’t comment (reply to other people’s comments. The administrator of this group ignores my inquiries about this.
What is going on with this?
