The last couple of days the PC Oculus App is downloading games terribly slow. No it’s not my internet, modem, router or my PC. I am speed testing at 1100mbps and every other download on other apps are downloading normal. This just started recently and was working fine a few days ago. What’s going on META?
I have rift cv1 on one computer and am trying to test a new quest 3 on a second computer. I am unable to download games to that second computer because the download is so slow if gives up. I've found if I download or stream something else in the background the Oculus software will speed up until that background download completes.
I tried on my cv1 computer and currently have the same speed issue.
I have no other network speed issues the slow speed is specific to Oculus game downloads.
I have this exact same issue. There is also a large reddit post about it, why no response from Oculus? Clearly there is something happening at 1.95/2.12gb of the download.
It’s been about a week and a half to two weeks that the pcvr Quest store has had awful download speeds. Downloading on my two Quest headsets, however, is very fast. Clearly something is wrong with the PCVR store. I’m trying to download Asgards Wrath 1, but at 140gigs it would take days at that speed, even if it didn’t constantly start over, which it does. Guys.. fix the PC store. It’s not my connection, I’ve rebooted the router.. I’m getting 900mbps but almost nothing in the store.
I ran Wireshark during download and see tons of blocks of tcp out of order and duplicate acks from IP 31.13.66.48 Hostname or reverse DNS (rDNS): edge-oculus-shv-01-iad3.fbcdn.net. I believe this is resetting the tcp window so the download cannot progress. During 3 attempts the second attempt had only one small block and the 3rd looked normal and the slow download issue went away. So looks like an outage of some type. Given the amount of posts about this I bet there is bad hardware causing issue for only some users.
I recently got a Quest 3 and have been trying to download the free copy of Asgard's Wrath i received before Asgard's Wrath 2 comes out. For some reason the Oculus Store download is extremely slow. My PC is connected via ethernet. I have 1300Mbps download speed and have reset my router multiple times and contacted my ISP and they said my connection is great.
I download steam vr games extremely fast but the Oculus Store something is up. in 2 hours I have gotten 12 GB/86.73 GB installed. What is the deal with this and how can it be fixed? It's 2023 and the store is giving me dial up download speeds.
I'm getting the same. Chat help was no help at all since they just said re-install the app and i said no because i didn't want to take forever to download but then even the app download of 2.12GB took 1 hr and 20 min because of a couple spikes in speed. I tested and downloaded 2 1.3 gb games in steam in the same time and each of those took 20 seconds...
I've tested with small and large games (lone echo II, vader immortal, epic roller coasters, google earth, meta horizon worlds.) every single one has terrible speeds like everyone mentioned. jumping up and down from 8kbps to mayb 700kbps on a spike but i can download a gig file from steam in 15 seconds.... 100% meta's side.
