MSI Apache Pro. Not detecting headset HDMI Cable issue.

Hello

I am attempting to run Oculus Rift on my GE72 7RE Apache Pro Laptop. https://www.msi.com/Laptop/GE72-7RE-Apache-Pro.html

When trying to load the oculus for the first time the HDMI Headset is not detected. Everything else connects perfectly including the headset USB. Does anyone have any idea how to fix this without buying a whole new machine?

In this video the guy seems to be running VR perfectly without issues on the same Laptop however it is the Vive.

Any help appreciated

Laptops are very problematic for Rift compatibility. You may be able to get it to work, but often times it won't be detected. One thing to try would be to use a DisplayPort-to-HDMI adapter for the headset. Sometimes that can help.
