[Megathread] Asgard's Wrath 2 - crash during loading screen

I've downloaded and installed Azgards Wrath 2.  When I launched the game for the 1st time all seemed to work well but I got called away to work so shut it down. When I now try to launch the game I get as far as the Azgard splash screen and it then shuts down bringing me back to my home environment. I've cleared the game data on my oculus cloud and deleted and re-installed the game. Any ideas why the game wont launch guys?

Hey @Skybird1402! Thanks for replying with this detailed post and what you did to address the issue, and I know the save file must've been hard to let go. I'm hoping more people can see this, that way it can lead them to getting back into AW2!

Just in case anyone had the issue I had described above. What I ended up doing is making a seperate account in the meta quest. Once I did this, I did the install on Asgards Wrath 2 without deleting ANY of my original data on this new account. Once done, I opened with that account, it opened no problem. Went back to my original account that had the issues and it opened right up with no problems. Have not had the issue again since doing this.

So it looks like @DaftnDirect@CPrewett, and @Skybird1402 have posted what they did to address this issue. You can find their workaround at the top of the thread or if you click the "Go to solution" above every post.

Hopefully, what they did helps anyone else experiencing this issue and get them back into playing AW2!

This is a garbage response. Reinstall, lose the hours put into it. Factory reset? How about you refund us the money? 

Hi there, @Liquid_Assassin. We see that you are concerned about the uninstall and factory reset. We just want to let you know that as long as the Cloud Backup is enabled, you'll be able to perform those troubleshooting steps while still having all of your apps and AW2 game progress saved. This way, you can load in your app data and game progress anytime you want, as it will be tied to your account.

 

So we do see that at the top/first page of this thread are 3 solutions that users have used to address this issue. If you tried those solutions to no avail, please reach out to us in the PMs so that we can look into other options with you.

It's a software defect I bought it on quest 2 and have the same issue

This just happened to me. I delayed playing this for a few months due to this issue. Have got this once, and fixed it with deleting all save data and cloud save. Then I played couple of hours and waited. Just tried it again now, and got the same problem again.

so.. even now, no other solution other than delete all save and cloud save, that means restarting over and over again ?

I found a bit of a workaround. As soon as you enter the game, when you choose between going to the rift or going to the mirror, press the meta button on the left controller and bring up the maps and you can just jump to wherever you need to go to start the game.
